ECAC Hockey Video of the Week: Longest Game in NCAA History

The epic 5OT game between Union and Quinnipiac in the first game of the ECAC Quarterfinals was one of the most memorable moments of my four years at Union. The first four goals of the game were scored within the first 21:12 of the game, but then came over two games worth of shutout hockey. QU's Dan Clarke and Union's Keith Kinkaid battled throughout, but the Bobcats prevailed with a 3-2 victory on Greg Holt's goal with 9:38 left in the fifth overtime after 150:22 of hockey. Even though the Dutchmen lost the game, they proceeded to win the next two games to secure their first ever berth to the ECAC Final Four. [Game Recap]

Fun Fact: This game broke the previous record of 141:35 in a game between Union and Yale in 2006. Both games took place at Messa Rink, and Union lost both games... to teams from Connecticut.
