My "ECAC Hockey" U.S. Olympic Team

Since today is the 31st anniversary of the "Miracle On Ice," I though I'd have some fun and create a U.S. Olympic team comprised of only current ECAC Hockey players. Back when the Americans beat the Soviets, only amateurs could participate in the Olympics. Now, NHLers comprise entirely of the U.S. hockey roster. Imagine what the American roster would look like with only college players?

What do you think? Could this team give the '80 team a run for their money?

Forwards:
Bobby Farnham (Brown) - North Andover, Mass.
Austin Smith (Colgate) - Dallas, Texas
Chris Wagner (Colgate) - Walpole, Mass.
Brian Ferlin (Cornell) - Jacksonville, Florida
Eric Robinson (Dartmouth) - Foxboro, Mass.
Jack Berger (Princeton) - St. Louis, Missouri
Jeremy Langlois (Quinnipiac) - Tempe, Arizona
Wayne Simpson (Union) - Boxborough, Mass.
Kyle Flanagan (SLU) - Canton, NY
Kenny Agostino (Yale) - Flanders, New Jersey
Andrew Miller (Yale) - Bloomfield Hills, Michigan
Brian O'Neill (Yale) - Yardley, Pennsylvania

Defense:
Keir Ross (Cornell) - McKinney, Texas
Michael Sdao (Princeton) - Niwot, Colorado
Loren Barron (Quinnipiac) - Glendora, California
Nick Bailen (RPI) - Fredonia, NY
Shayne Gostisbehere (Union) - Margate, Florida
George Hughes (SLU) - Westwood, Mass.

Goalie:
Troy Grosenick (Union) - Brookfield, Wisconsin
Andy Iles (Cornell) - Ithaca, New York

Also, here's how I might put the lines:
* Note: There are 6 RW's & 5 C's on this roster and most of the D are LD's, so I did my best to put guys where they fit.
Cornell's Andy Iles played for the US NDT

Farnham - Wagner - Smith
Agostino - Miller - O'Neill
Simpson - Flanagan - Robinson
Berger - Langlois - Ferlin

Bailen - Ross
Hughes - Sdao
Barron - Gostisbehere

Grosenick
Iles

Did I miss anyone? Think I should have cut someone and added another? There were some tough decisions to be made, but I think I did a pretty good job. Let me know what you think.

Here are the other guys I considered:

Herb Brooks Award (Cut at the Last Second):
Joe Wilson (Colgate) - North Syracuse, New York
Marshall Everson (Harvard) - Edina, Minnesota
Matt Lindblad (Dartmouth) - Winnetka, Illinois
Doug Jones (Dartmouth) - Marietta, Georgia
Austin Mayer (Colgate) - Providence, Rhode Island

Nick Jaskowiak (Yale) - Bloomington, Minnesota
Derrick Pallis (Princeton) - Medfield, Massachusetts
Ryan Grimshaw (Harvard) - Rochester, New York
Sean Whitney (Cornell) - Scituate, Massachusetts
Patrick McNally (Harvard) - Glen Head, New York
Tommy Fallen (Yale) - Plymouth, Minnesota

Eric Mihalik (Colgate) - Avon Lake, Ohio
