Three Stars (Week 11)

Jacob Drewskie
Since there were only two league teams in action this week I'm going to do things a little different. I'm going to do what the league does and pick a Player of the Week, Rookie of the Week, and Goaltender of the Week. All players will receive two points in the standings.

Player of the Week: Jacob Drewskie (SLU)
The Saints captain scored the game-winning goal in the 2-1 win at Vermont on Saturday night. His goal with 3:57 left in regulation came when he ripped a shot while streaking down the left wing past Vermont goaltender Rob Madore. He is fourth on the team with 10 points, and has posted five points over his last four games.
Shayne Gostisbehere

Rookie of the Week: Shayne Gostisbehere (Union)
It looks like the 18-year old, Florida native is coming into his own right now. He scored the game-winning goal in Union's big 3-1 win at Merrimack on a great play where he pump-faked twice and wristed the puck past stud goaltender Joe Cannata on the power-play. It was his second goal in as many games, and the second of his young career. "Ghost" has tallied a point in five of his last five games, and his second among Union defensemen with seven points. If he keeps this up, he will definitely be in contention for the ECAC All-Rookie team with the likes of Patrick McNally, Spiro Goulakos, Sam Labreque, and Joakim Ryan.
Troy Grosenick

Goalie of the Week: Troy Grosenick (Union)
While SLU's Robby Moss had a great surprise performance at Vermont, I have to give this award to Grosenick because if you go head-to-head with Joe Cannata and win, you must have played a pretty good game (Also, Vermont is having a pretty terrible year). Grosenick wasn't heavily tested and only made 19 stops in the 3-1 win, but you still have to make those stops. I bet going up against a guy like Cannata can be very intimidating. He is second in the nation with a 1.71 GAA among goaltenders with at least seven games played, and is tied for ninth with a .932 save percentage. Also, Grosenick has won six of his past seven decisions after winning just two of his first six decisions.
